We're here to help!
Whether it’s in a classroom or a club, in a scientific field or on a sports field, Elmira is your place to discover, grow, and find your purpose in the world.
Form lifelong friendships, give back to our community, enjoy campus events, and see what else life on the Elmira College campus has to offer. The college experience at Elmira means meeting students from around the world participating in timeless traditions and community service projects.
From arts and culture to game nights and DIY projects, Elmira's campus is a hub of activity for students to connect with each other or take a break and recharge. Each month, enjoy cultural celebrations in the dining hall with Culinary Cultures, featuring foods from different cultures. You can also win prizes at a game night while supporting your favorite club or organization, or take a yoga class. There is something for everyone!
Art. Dragons. Student government. Volunteering. A capella. You can even try out our new men's hockey and competitive dance club sports. Whatever your passion, from environmental activism to academic honors clubs, you’ll find a community to share it with at Elmira College. Our students' interests are as diverse as their studies. Get involved with something you love, or branch out with something new. Either way, you'll find a reason to call Elmira home.
Part of the college experience is getting to know students from around the world and from all walks of life. And one of the best ways to do that is by living on campus. Students who live on campus have higher GPAs due to the proximity of classes, faculty, and facilities like the library, allowing students to be more engaged.
A true home away from home, residence halls are communities where you’ll reset, recharge, and have fun with friends. For first-year students, your roommate (and everyone else in your residence hall) is adjusting to living on campus for the first time. These shared experiences can lead to support systems and lifelong friendships.
Dining is an essential part of the Elmira student experience — it's where you’ll refuel and reconnect with the campus community. With a focus on craftsmanship, our daily offerings are always fresh, creative, seasonal, and made from scratch.
The Center for Academic and Professional Excellence is an integrated academic support unit committed to lifelong learning and educational exploration. From accessibility to the writing center to career development, CAPE has the tools and resources to assist and direct your journey to success as you prepare for life after graduation.
Elmira has a variety of support services to ensure that students are putting their best foot forward as they pursue their passions. Whether you’re looking to stay physically fit or need a listening ear as you face a personal challenge, our support teams are here to help. Students also have access to The Clarke Health Center, which provides accessible, quality healthcare services through basic medical care, allergy shots, specialist referrals, and prescription refills in addition to other services. Elmira is a smoke-free campus, which contributes not only to a healthier lifestyle, but also supports our goal of becoming more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
The City of Elmira is a small, quaint town with big-city connections. Located in New York's picturesque Finger Lakes, it's a jumping-off point for skiing, golf, hiking, water sports, bike touring, museums, and restaurants. Throughout the year, Elmira Downtown Development hosts events in the district such as outdoor concerts, a weekly farmers market, street painting festival, outdoor movie nights, and more.
